Perfecto

How great and beautiful to live.

staff:
You will NEVER meet a more kind and helpful staff – Thanks Nelli and Juan!

Accomidations:
The rooms are spacious and have views to the decks.

Extras:
There are two swimming pools – one at the top with views and the other under the swimup bar where you can get lunch / drinks

food:
We went to almost every restaurant on the island and this one is without a doubt in our top 3 (also would recomment Suzie s – these are both much better than usual you will see advertised)

This island is a gem. No hotels / houses on the beach so you feel like you are in an episode of Lost. I’ll be back and I’ll stay in Bahia.

The most relaxing place

We flew from San Juan to Culebra for our honeymoon (make sure you go from Isla Grande airport is small, no SJU). You arrive in Culebra, Marina Bahia give them a call and come and pick you up. The first thing you notice about the island and Marina Bahia itself is that everyone is very happy to be there. Nellie is like a mother to her guests. When Juan took us to our room, we found it’s really like a condo with bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and kitchens are very comfortable living space /. He opened the curtain and jokingly said, “This is a horrible view of you.” Wow. We are looking over the harbor and across to the mountains beyond. I love going out on deck to read. Be careful not to step on small lizards everywhere when you walk around the lush landscape.
Food at Bahia Marina is simply the best. You rather feel obligated to eat at every restaurant last on the tourist map they give you, but do not. We went back to the pan-burning shells appetizers them all, and hope we have done more. The bar at the pool nice and relaxed and they pulpo (octopus) salad is excellent. Be sure to book a massage with Susan while you’re there, he is really good to make you relax and enjoy yourself so do this as soon as you arrive. His card should be available around the resort.
You could easily rent your car there at the front desk. We booked on Thrifty.com, but not necessary. Everyone says to get the Jeep but I think we can get away with regular compact. This concludes Marina Bahia: we want to eat before going to the airport, but not sure if we have time. The staff said, “No problem. Take your rental car to the airport and leave it there. We’ll take it” We are very impressed with the level of service. And hope to return to celebrate the birthday of the future!

Magical Place

I have visited many places around the world! However, this is the first time I feel obliged to spend some time and write a review about my family’s first visit to the Bahia Marina. Botton front line – a unique place with beautiful scenery, the staff makes you feel like you are part of their family from the time you make your reservation to the time you leave, good food at their restaurant, and clean rooms. This is not the Embassy Suites, Hyatt, or Westin. If that is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you. Rather, it is a small place with all necessary facilities and friendly staff everywhere you go. Nereida my hat into the reservation, Julie at the Shipwreck Bar, Tony, who met us at the ferry terminal and took us back in the end, Wilma at the reception, which of course for Jose and his sons who went out of their way to make us feel at home. You will need to rent a car (or golf cart) if you want to explore the island and go to the beach Flamenco. Or, you can get a taxi which depends on the number of people and the number of places you want to visit, maybe a cheaper option. Try to get a round-trip ferry tickets you in advance if possible, to avoid the hazzle to do it the day of departure. Overall, great experience and great time! Can not wait to do it again!

Wonderful Views

We stayed in a two bedroom with partial ocean view. Positive is:
Very friendly staff, spacious rooms, close to the city, two swimming pools are nice, BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING, two good decks, and great food, but expensive in restaurants. When we arrived the room was clean except for black coffee pot, silver trays and dishes of food has been hard on them. No big deal, I just clean it yourself. This is a nice property, but could be much better with a few touch and following up their household staff.
Blue sofa / futon needs to be replaced. They are more for a dorm room and very uncomfortable to sit on. The kitchen is very poorly stocked, but when I took her list to Nelly us everything we need! But somemone must go through too much to see there is only one fork, one knife, one glass and pans are not suitable for the salvation army. The people who live on TV we say they do not work well and they are also very bad condo stocked. Thick cushions and hard so I do not use a pillow. Household replaced just a towel. We have to sweep the floor ourselves. We always do our own dishes, but one morning we left the pan and of course it’s still dirty when we got back from the beach. Swimming pools are great but do not let your children go barefoot because the deck is very misleading and they’ll get splinters!
That grilling is not allowed another bumber.

If you can not do stairs do not live in two bedrooms because the flight steep stairs up to the swimming pool and restaurant upstairs and down steep flights into the new pool. One last thing that I think condos are new but could not because the buttons on the kitchen cabinets are rusty, paint peeling on the walls, there are large cracks in walls and mold in the bathroom where water stands.
Lastly, unless you are in fantastic condition, walk to the beach so much more than walk 15 minutes and you have to go up a big hill. You definitely need a jeep. A bit deceiving to say it’s close to the resort.
We have a great time at Bahia Culebra and good but just needs some work but you will never meet the friendly staff!

Recharging your batteries!

We have a wonderful Thanksgiving trip to Culebra, using the Bahia Marina as our home base. Three generations of my family lived in a two-bedroom villa, and everyone was happy with the set-up. The rooms are spacious and clean, and air conditioning worked great and did not have a mold, which can be a problem in the tropics. We stocked the fridge (a full-sized, not tiny dorm fridge) so we can have quick and easy breakfast and lunch on the fly, and we ate delicious Caribbean food in the hotel restaurant at night.

The hotel is located on a hilltop, overlooking the bay and out to sea. We drove our jeep to the beach the first time, but realized that it was much closer than we thought, so after that we enjoyed a beautiful walk. Take your camera with you! Snorkeling on the beach is great (I saw my first cowfish!), And we mostly had the beach to ourselves.
There is plenty to see and do in Culebra, and super friendly staff happy to point you in the right direction. Be sure to check out Flamenco and, even better, Carlos Rosario, which you get to the parking lot of Flamenco. At the end of a long day, relax by the pool back at the hotel, sipping a cocktail before dinner … This is paradise!

The Honest

Two of the best things about our week at the Marina is the Bahai beautiful weather and beautiful scenery of the bay from our condo by the restaurant. Both pools were good size and clean, but the wooden decking around them much of what you want for young children. Food better than average, but expensive. The manager, Jose, very helpful, and Julie, the bartender, that’s great.

One night there was music playing in the restaurant until 11:30 that night, there are only 3 or 4 people in the audience. You must have a car when you go to the Bahai Marina. All the beaches are very remote and the roads to all of them full of holes – except for the road to Flamenco Beach. There are also holes in the roads on the property and fixing them will not be a difficult task.

Cleaning staff mediocre. The furniture was old and very uncomfortable couch. Sparcely equipped kitchen. We wash our own dishes because they are sometimes only rinsed (not acceptable). No phone into a ball between the bedroom and no clock / alarm when you need to get up to get the early flight or ferry ride. T V channels is minimal at best. No WiFi, except in restaurants.

Do we enjoy our week? Yes, because, the family pool weather, which with us, and just get away from the hustle and bustle at home.

Beautiful Wedding of My Daughter’s

How nice for the purpose of our daughter’s wedding. She and the couple lived in Ohio, has now moved to the SE U.S. .. The rest of us have been moved to PR. We all went to Culebra year before (Bday 50 I happened to fall on the weekend .. cool, awesome another story.)
Since he was 5 or 6 years old, he wanted to stay on the beach and married one another. A dream come true!
We have a ceremony in flamenco (one of the world’s top two beaches, depending on what you read, but sooo awesome.). Many of Puerto Rico to spend the weekend there and I worry people. This is the best place for sunset wedding, though. Everyone was quiet, 90% standing to the side, observing, taking pictures and even record the ceremony. When finished they all clapped and cheered and yelled, which is rather cool since childhood together. No one bothered us at all.

The reception was at the pool on Bahia Marina with the most amazing food. I think I went out rehearsal dinner the night before. Same as usual, just different. I can not compare. Jose and Lisa do all they can to make sure all is perfection. The staff was AMAZING and do everything in their power to take care of everyone. Jose even my desire to care for grandchildren child’s meal at the reception. He must be charmed!

Lisa works as a wedding planner to make everything wonderful reception. In me; aws (a bit off) really enjoyed it, (I was nervous, it DIL after many years.)
Recommendations Lisa, Delphine (from PR, the main island) to do all the girls and natural bridal makeup. He was great to work with and did an awesome job, and do so quickly to boot.

My 8 y / o grandson has a “signature” when he gave a touch of glamor, too They looked so beautiful .. I want to see him at his salon someday.

I know this is long but what a beautiful wedding. B & G and then going to Antigua where the groom got sick (water? Do not know.) 5 days into it.

The rooms are amazing, exceptional service and food that comes out of this world. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. This is our second time here, and I’ll have to write again about the trip. Sailing with Captain Bill gave me a beautiful dream for months afterward. He knows all the best places to go, leaving (sp?) Beachwise or deep sea fishing. And he eats he will put the chef prepares the most embarrassed.!

I can not wait to go back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flamenco Beach

In the Bahia Marina, there are flamenco beach. The Flamenco Beach is considered the most beautiful beaches in the world both with Discover Channel and by far the most popular beaches in Culebra.

White sandy beaches stretching along the entire bay, you will feel the Caribbean sun everywhere and wondering why you have to wait this long.

Flamenco is a great place to snorkle, sunbathe, swim, socialize and camping.

The beach is easily accessible so make sure to stop for most visitors.

You’ll find the campground office is located right at the entrance to the beach Flamenco, because this is the only place on the island that camping is allowed.

Take some time and walk along the beach, soaking up water clarity and foaming waves. Splash a little, swim a little, bake yourself in the sun and at the end of the day, you just might remember the old Coppertone ads from the 70s:)

There are some places just a bit to stay right on Flamenco beach, so make reservations early is pretty much the only way to go.

If you do a day trip, you’ll find lots of ‘facilities’. There are several kiosks that rent the typical beach accessories, chairs, umbrellas, tents and other camping equipment. Others sell food and beverages, including a perfect tropical ‘Pina Colada’.

There is an outdoor shower with fresh water in the operation 16:00 to 7:00, the bathroom was open all the time, and water tanks along the road that has fresh water.

Enjoy, bring your entire family, camping gear, and much to barbeque and you’re ready. Or just bring a book, some sunscreen and a tiny bikini.

Bahia Marina Beach

Thumbs up to the staff and facilities at the Bahia Marina! ! From the moment you arrive, you become part of the family of Bahia. From the owner / manager Jose Sr., to the service / reservationist exceptional customer Nelli and Christina, to the bartender / waiter / waitress Jose Jr., Julie, & Amanda, and transportaionist Jorge, you are made to feel like Norm when he walked into cheerful. Nelli, Nelli, Nelli! I can not say enough about him. Before. during, & after that, he is your go-to person and is worth its weight in gold! We are not poor by any means, but you know that your every need may be met with this person exceptional staff. This is the reason why Bahia is not only hotel / condo / resort, but EXPERIENCE FOR ITSELF! Bahia setting overlooking the water on two sides is ideal considering the fact that no buildings will be allowed directly on the beach because of the fierce preservation that locals take to their island (and rightly so!) Sitting atop a small mountain, all the units are placed to provide view of the maximum. The layout is well thought out and everything is clean and quite comfortable. It was also very good to have two swimming pools to choose from, which is also very well kept. While we can not have another restaurant a lot because of our presence in Bahia during the slow season and many local restaurants are closed (La Pista across from the airport is the best authentic Puerto Rican meal and The Spot and Pandeli in the city are also very good. All that is only open to lunch in October), we are not at a loss at all because we were able to walk our steps into the bar and have some great drinks (try the local Medalla beer and local drinks Bushwacker that) followed by an AMAZING dinner by chefs in Bahia. Food there is SO good that we are only allowed Jose Jr. to order for us every night. His advice is really spot on and including steak and pasta and fresh fish choices many nights. Renting a jeep from Carlos Jeep is a must for getting around the island and experience the ‘many extraordinary beaches (Flamenco is even better than I expected). Another must is a day catamaran trip with Captain Bill and sweet little dog’s teeth. This is a little expensive, but worth every penny. What price would you pay to swim with sea turtles in their natural habitat and feed them by hand? This is not a booze cruise 3-4 hours. This is a 6-8 hour trip to fish, snorkel, hike whatever you want and includes lunch cooked incredible. For those who like snorkelling and for a small rise, go to the back left of the parking lot at Flamenco Beach and go through the gate (which was locked, but left open enough to fit through) and over the hill and walk to Carlos Rosario beach is amazing. Be sure NOT to stop at the first beach you will see on your left at the end of the road. This is NOT Carlos Rosario, but part of Tamarindo, and while snorkeling there is also quite remarkable, you’l want to stay on the road straight ahead for about 50 yards longer to hit Carlos Rosario. Blue and clear water and shallow enough to allow sunlight to all things to perfection, but deep enough to allow room for a small “valley” formed by the abundance of coral LIFE of all shapes and sizes in which many of the colorful, dazzling fish waiting to be seen. It exceeded all our snorkeling in St. John, St. Martin, and Mexico. This is what conservation is all about. The whole island is truly a hidden gem for this reason and while it’s worth to be shared, I really hesitate to do so, because I was not too many people show up! I could go on & on, but Culebra is a must see itself as Bahia Marina. It is rated # 1 for a reason and you will not be disappointed!
