Arriving in Culebra is part of the fun and adventure. Flying from San Juan is about 20-25 minutes, from Ceiba (the town after Fajardo) it is approximately 11 minutes, and the ferry from Fajardo is an hour and 15 minutes.

Isla Grande airport is next to the San Juan Bay and Old San Juan, the San Juan International airport is in Isla Verde, (metropolitan area). The Airport in the town of Ceiba is approximately hour and a half drive from the metropolitan area, on the east end of the island. You may also ride the passenger ferry from Fajardo to Culebra, (know as the lancha) or the cargo ferry.

There are three commercial airlines with regular flights.

Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link (V.A.L.) fly from Isla Grande, all three fly from Fajardo, and Isla Neña islanenapr@centennialpr.net specializes in flights from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.

VIA FERRY:

A 1 ½ hour ferry ride is also available from Fajardo, a sea port on the east shore of Puerto Rico . For the taxi drive between San Juan and Fajardo you should allow between two and three hours, depending on traffic. The typical taxi charge is approximately $65 to $80.

The Voyage between Fajardo and Culebra is approximately 1 ½ hours. Schedules are subject to change and should be verified ahead of time. Passenger fare is $2.25 per person each way or $4.50 round trip. For vehicle and cargo fares, please call the Puerto Rico Maritime Authority. Ticket reservation may be purchased in advance from the Maritime Authority.
